HAPPY VALLEY, Ore. — A man died on Interstate 205 after being struck by a vehicle in Clackamas County on Saturday, according to Oregon State Police.
Oregon State Police responded at 11:35 p.m. to reports of a person dead on the freeway just north of Southeast Sunnyside Road. When officers arrived, they found the body of 47-year-old Alejandro Rivera, a resident of Happy Valley. Officers said Rivera died at the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a black vehicle struck Rivera and then fled, Oregon State Police said.
The far left lane on I-205 southbound was impacted for approximately four hours during the crash investigation.
An investigation into the hit-and-run is ongoing.
