Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash in Southeast Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. — A man died after he was hit by a vehicle in Southeast Portland late Saturday night, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) reported.

The crash happened at the intersection of Southeast 162nd Avenue and Stark Street, right at the border of Portland and Gresham, at around 11:11 p.m. Saturday. When PPB officers arrived, they found the man dead and that the driver had already left.

Police identified the man as 33-year-old William Taylor Jr.

Southeast 162nd Avenue was closed between East Burnside Street and Southeast Alder Street, and Southeast Stark Street was closed between Southeast 160th Avenue and Southeast 164th Avenue during the investigation.
