Oregon, Portland authorities offer reward for information related to fatal shooting of Uber driver

Josh Kelvin was shot and killed while driving for Uber on Southeast 130th Place and Southeast Ramona Street.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) and Crime Stoppers of Oregon are asking for the public to identify the suspect or suspects who shot and killed a man who was driving for Uber last month.

On the evening of June 4, the 42-year-old Joshua Michael Kelvin had picked up a 17-year-old passenger near Southeast 130th Place in Portland's Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood when a suspect or suspects fired multiple gunshots at the car.

The gunshots killed him, and the teenage passenger was hospitalized.

Kelvin and his wife, Kelly, had been married for 18 years and had three children.

“Please just turn yourself in," she begged in June. "You get to hug your loved ones and I never get to see my husband again."

Portland detectives are still investigating. Crime Stoppers of Oregon is offering cash rewards of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest in any unsolved felony crime, but tipsters must remain anonymous, the agency said. Tips can be left at the Crime Stoppers website, or through the P3 tips app.
