PORTLAND, Ore. – Police are searching for a man who they say attempted to rob a teen at knifepoint while she was walking her dog along a trail at Sellwood Riverfront Park Tuesday morning.
The teen, 18, told police she was walking in a wooded area of the trail, toward Oaks Amusement Park, when a masked man jumped out of the bushes. She said he grabbed her arm, took out a pocket knife and demanded she give him her belongings. The teen was not injured. Officers searched the area for the suspect but did not find him.
The suspect was described as a 6-foot white man in his 20s with a skinny build. He had light brown hair and may have had a goatee or beard, the suspect told police. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black cargo pants, black shoes and a black mask.
