Man dead after Northeast Portland shooting

Portland police found the man dead after reports of a person shot near Northeast Sandy Boulevard and Northeast 82nd Avenue Wednesday morning.

PORTLAND, Oregon — A man died following a shooting Wednesday morning at the Quality Inn in Northeast Portland. No arrests have been made in the case.

Police officers responded at 5:15 a.m. to reports of a person shot near Northeast Sandy Boulevard and Northeast 82nd Avenue. They found a man dead at the scene and the suspect, or suspects, had already taken off. 

A KGW crew saw police officers and police tape set up around the parking lot outside the Quality Inn.

Portland police hasn't released the man's name yet and didn't specify whether the man had a gunshot wound. The medical examiner will work to determine the man's cause of death, which will be released after his family members are notified.
