Man arrested in Washington County for sexually abusing children; investigators seek more victims

Detectives are seeking if there are any additional victims following the arrest of 39-year-old Jacob Paul Luther Bentley on 12 counts of sexual abuse.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A Washington County grand jury has indicated a man on sexual abuse following an investigation after multiple children disclosed being abused by the same person.

39-year-old Jacob Paul Luther Bentley of Bay City was arrested Monday and booked into the Washington County jail for 12 counts of first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct.

During the investigation, detective learned of two other children also disclosed Bentley had abused them as well. The abuse reported occurred in both Washington and Tillamook County. 

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are possible in the future, according to the news release. To date, four children have reported Bentley abused them when under the age of 10. 

Detectives are seeking any potential additional victims. Anyone with information is asked to call the Washington County's Sheriff’s Office at 503-846-2500.
