TIGARD, Ore. — A man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison in connection with killing another man in Tigard at a homeless resource center.
On June 26, 2022, officers responded at 12:49 p.m. to Just Compassion Resource Center, located at 12280 Southwest Hall Boulevard in Tigard, and found a man, 53-year-old William Mayberry, dead in the backyard area of the property. Police arrested a suspect, Harrison McBride, who was 26 at the time, in late June.
At the time, police said Mayberry and McBride had ties to the center.
According to Tigard Police, McBride pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and second-degree abuse of a corpse. He was sentenced to 240 months, or 20 years, and will be transferred to the Oregon Department of Corrections.
