PORTLAND, Ore. — A man was assaulted in the Nob Hill neighborhood of Northwest Portland on June 12 and died two days later, according to police.

Portland Police Bureau (PPB) Central Precinct officers responded to reports of an assault at Northwest Everett Street and Northwest 19th Avenue and found an adult man badly injured. The victim, who was later identified as 51-year-old O'Marr Burnett, was taken to a hospital for treatment, but he died on June 14 from injuries sustained during the assault, according to a news release from the police.

The Multnomah County medical examiner's office later determined that Burnett died of "homicidal violence," police said, and PPB's Homicide Unit is investigating the incident. No arrests have been made, and the news release did not include any information about the circumstances of the assault. The news release also did not say if police are seeking any suspects.

Anyone with information about the case who has not yet spoken to police is asked to contact Detective Joseph Corona at joseph.corona@police.portlandoregon.gov or (503) 823-0508 or Detective Jennifer Hertzler at jennifer.hertzler@police.portlandoregon.gov or (503) 823-1040 and reference case number 24-145093.

This is a developing story and will be updated if more information becomes available.
