PORTLAND, Ore. — A man has been arrested in connection with over 30 different retail thefts in the Hazel Dell area, the Clark County Sheriff's Office said Friday.
25-year-old Christopher Blancas is accused of stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise from Marshalls and Target over the past year. A K-9 deputy arrested Blancas on Tuesday after recognizing him while patrolling near the Safeway in Hazel Dell, the sheriff's office said.
CCSO said Blancas would typically wear a face mask and use tools to cut off anti-theft devices. After he was placed into custody, Blancas admitted to multiple thefts, CCSO said. He is accused of committing 14 thefts at Target and 18 at Marshalls.
Blancas was charged with organized retail theft, retail theft with special circumstances and third-degree theft.
