PORTLAND, Ore. — A man has been arrested after a string of early morning robberies on Saturday in Portland.
According to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB), officers first responded to an armed robbery near 134th Avenue and Powell Boulevard, around 4:36 a.m. A victim had been sleeping in his car when he was robbed by the suspect at gunpoint but was not injured.
At 5:12 a.m., a pedestrian reported being robbed, also at gunpoint, in the 300 block of Southeast 109th Avenue. They were also not injured.
Twelve minutes later, a third person, a pedestrian, was robbed at Northeast Schuyler Street and Northeast 92nd Avenue. They were also uninjured.
The suspect's car was spotted in the area of Northeast 102nd Avenue and Northeast Halsey Street a short time afterward. He attempted to flee in his car, and the officer was able to use a "pursuit intervention technique" to stop his car at Southeast 148th Avenue and Southeast Main Street. The man leapt out of his car and fled but was stopped about a block away and arrested, police said.
Detectives also seized a handgun after executing a search warrant.
Marshall J. Hansen, 19, was then booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on three counts of first-degree robbery, three counts of second-degree robbery and a count of attempting to elude police by vehicle.
