Lake Oswego woman found dead in home; son under arrest

Police found a 78-year-old woman dead at a home. They arrested her son, 52-year-old Chad Brix.

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. — A homicide investigation is underway after a woman was found dead inside a Lake Oswego home Friday morning, police said. 

Around 8:40 a.m. Friday, Lake Oswego police were responding to a welfare check when they found a 78-year-old woman dead at a home on Mardee Avenue near Jean Road. Officers arrested the woman's son, 52-year-old Chad Brix. 

"We have the person in custody. There's no risk to the community and nothing to be concerned about," said Sgt. Tom Harper, Lake Oswego Police Department.

The woman's name has not been released, nor any other details on what led up to her death.
