PORTLAND, Ore. – A man was sent to prison Wednesday for the shooting death of Tiffany Jenks.
Jenks, 35, was found at the entrance to the Blue Lake Park on the morning of Oct. 8, 2013. She had died hours earlier from a gunshot wound to the head.
Investigators said she had met her killer just hours earlier at a night club.
Daniel Bruynell, 27, admitted to shooting her, but did not give a reason. He remained silent through the sentencing hearing. But Jenks’ family was there to confront him.
“You are the face of evil and it must be destroyed,” said her brother Brad Jenks. “Whenever I hear your name, I picture the devil himself.”
“You took away her voice, you took away my hope, you took away my lovely daughter and now only God can forgive you,” her mother Kathleen Johnson said.
Bruynell was sentenced to 18 years in prison. The two other people involved each received a year in prison for "hindering prosecution."
