Person left in critical condition after shooting in Longview home

Longview police said early Sunday, they responded to reports of a shooting at a home near 1600 11th Avenue.

LONGVIEW, Wash — A person is left in critical condition after a shooting in a home in Longview, Washington, according to the Longview Police Department (LPD).

At about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Longview police responded to reports of a shooting at a home near 1600 11th Avenue. When officers arrived they found a person with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is in critical condition, according to Longview police.

Longview police said the shooting suspect left the area before officers arrive. Police also said earlier in the investigation, a possible suspect and associated car was identified. 

At about 2 a.m. deputies with the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office found the suspect's car on I-5 headed southbound near Woodland, Washington. The deputies were able to safely stop and arrest the suspect, according to LPD.

The Longview Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit detectives are currently investigating the shooting.
