Man killed in Southeast Portland's Buckman shooting identified by police

Police have identified the man killed in the shooting that happened near Southeast Water Avenue around 9:40 p.m. on Thursday, as 31-year-old Wade Langford.

PORTLAND, Oregon — A man was found shot dead in Portland's Buckman neighborhood last Thursday night, according to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB).

PPB has identified the man killed as 31-year-old Wade Langford.

Around 9:40 p.m. Thursday, PPB responded to reports for a welfare check on Southeast Water Avenue. When officers arrived, they found Langford dead from a gunshot wound in a parking lot.

Officers were unable to locate the suspect(s) since they left the scene before officers arrived, and no arrests have been made, according to PPB.

The Portland Police Homicide Unit are investigating the case. During the investigation, Southeast Water Avenue was closed between Southeast Salmon Street and Southeast Madison Street.
