PORTLAND, Ore. — A man was found guilty by a Multnomah County judge in the fatal shooting of a woman in March 2023 at the Embassy Suites near the Portland International Airport, the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office reported Friday.
Judge Benjamin Souede found Ramond Andrew Lawrence, 33, guilty on three charges — murder in the first degree with a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon with a firearm and felon in possession of a firearm — for the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Teonjenique Elizabeth Lashay Hudson Howard on March 15, 2023.
Sentencing for Lawrence is scheduled for Aug. 30.
On March 15, officers from the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) and Port of Portland Police responded at around 2:45 a.m. to the hotel, located near Northeast 82nd Way and Airport Way. They found two people, a man and a woman, who had been shot and killed. Two others, including a security guard, were injured and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The name of the second person who was shot and killed is Adrian Daeshawn Granville. On Aug. 2, 2023, in a news release announcing the grand jury indictment of Lawrence, the district attorney's office reported that the investigation "in relation to the second victim" was ongoing. KGW reached out to the DA's office Friday morning for an update on a case for Granville's death but has yet to hear back.
