Gresham police asking for victim of a suspected pedestrian robbery to come forwards

On March 12, officers responded to a 911 call from someone who reported witnessing an armed pedestrian robbery on Southeast Division Street around 7:30 p.m.

GRESHAM, Ore. — The Gresham Police Department (GPD) are looking for a person who is suspected of being a victim in an armed robbery on March 12, according to GPD.

Officers responded to a 911 call from someone who reported witnessing an armed pedestrian robbery on Southeast Division Street around 7:30 p.m. The witness also reported seeing the robbery suspect get into the passenger seat of a white BMW and provided GPD with the BMW's travel direction.

Officers were able to locate a BMW matching that description and tried to stop it. The driver of the BMW made an attempt to speed away from police, but officers were able to set up a spike strips causing the car to stop near Northeast 162nd Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street, according to GPD. 

Gresham police said that the driver of the car, 18-year-old Angel Jimenez-Gonzalez of Gresham, was arrested and facing charges on suspicion of attempting to elude, reckless driving and reckless endangering. Officers were able to find evidence that aligned with the description of the witness in regard to the alleged robbery.

The investigation into the passenger's involvement regarding the suspected robbery is ongoing. Detectives believe there are more victims and witnesses to the suspected robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call the Gresham Police Tip Line at 503-618-2719.
