ALBANY, Ore. — A former high school math teacher and wrestling coach in Albany is facing sex abuse charges. Albany police believes there could be more victims.
Police officers arrested 28-year-old Duece Keey Loi Phaly on Dec. 13. Phaly is charged with 10 counts of sex abuse in the second degree and one count of sex abuse in the third degree. He is lodged at the Linn County Jail.
On Dec. 11, allegations of an inappropriate sexual relationship between Phaly and a high school student was "brought to the attention of a School Resource Officer," Albany police said. Following an investigation, police officers arrested Phaly two days later.
He taught math and also worked as a wrestling coach at South Albany High School from 2018-2022. The alleged inappropriate sexual relationship began in 2022, according to Albany police.
The Greater Albany Public School District has been working with Albany police in the investigation.
