PORTLAND, Ore. — A dead body was found in Northeast Portland early Sunday morning, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) reported.
The body was found by officers around 12:58 a.m. Sunday in the area of Northeast Fremont Street and 105th Avenue. Police said "due to the state of the remains," it couldn't be determined if the person was a man or woman. KGW asked for more information about the condition of the body and when the death occurred. PPB said it wasn't releasing more information at this time.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene to investigate. No roads were closed but the railroad that runs adjacent to Fremont Street was stopped during the investigation.
The person's identity will be released after the medical examiner determines cause of death and family members are notified.
