ALBANY, Ore — The Albany Police Department is asking for the public's help finding a suspect involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman on Saturday.
Officers from the Albany Police Department responded to a crash involving a pedestrian near Heritage Mall just after 4 a.m. Police said that the crash happened at 1500 Geary Street Southeast, near the intersection with 14th Avenue Southeast.
The victim, 30-year-old Alexandria Lee Mulrooney of Albany, was found lying in the middle of the road around 4:22 a.m. Police said she was pronounced dead at the scene despite multiple life-saving efforts.
The driver involved fled the scene, though the vehicle sustained front end damage.
Police identified the involved vehicle as follows:
- Dark colored
- Mid-1980s to mid-1990s
- Single cab pickup truck
- Possibly a Nissan
Albany police are asking for the public's help with video surveillance in the locations below:
- Geary Street Southeast between Pacific Boulevard and Queen Avenue
- 16th Avenue at Geary Street Southeast
- 17th Avenue at Geary Street Southeast
