At least 1 person injured in shooting that damaged gas line, Gresham police say

PORTLAND, Ore. — At least one person was injured in a shooting near Gresham Sunday Night. The shooting appears to have damaged a residential gas line, Gresham police said, and nearby residents were evacuated.

Officers responded to the shooting just after 10 p.m. in the area of 186th Avenue and East Burnside. At least one person was taken to the hospital for treatment, but Gresham police did not provide any additional information about the extent of their injuries or their condition. Gresham police has also not said what led up to the shooting, and whether officers are looking for any suspects.

Gresham police believe a residential gas line was damaged during the shooting. Personnel with Northwest Natural responded and the gas line was shut off. Gresham police and firefighters evacuated nearby residents. The evacuations were lifted, Gresham police confirmed Monday morning.
