PORTLAND, Ore. -- An 18-year-old man died and a 17-year-old boy was critically wounded in a shooting late Tuesday night in Northeast Portland.
Officers were dispatched about 10:50 p.m. to the Hazelwood Station Apartments at 36 NE 147th Avenue after reports of gunfire.
Arriving officers found 18-year-old Kentraveon D. Hill of Portland dead at the scene. The state medical examiner said Hill died of a gunshot would and the manner of death is homicide.
A 17-year-old boy was wounded in the shooting. He was taken to a hospital and remains in critical condition, according to police. His name has not been released.
Police say there is no immediate danger to the public.
