OREGON CITY, Ore. -- Crews battled a three-alarm fire in Oregon City that broke out about 5 a.m. Wednesday, injuring two firefighters.
A driver saw smoke in the area and called 911, said Lt. Jed Wachlin of Clackamas Fire District 1. Arriving firefighters saw smoke from a building that houses three businesses at 1015 Molalla Ave., he said.
The third alarm was called to bring more crews to the scene when a backdraft blast caused two windows to explode, knocking down two firefighters.
One was unhurt and the second treated at the scene, he said. Protective gear prevented more serious injuries, he said.
Molalla Avenue closed between Holmes Lane and Warner Milne Road.
