PORTLAND, Ore. — It's hard enough to remember what day of the week it is right now, let alone celebrate a holiday. But, weird timing aside, Easter is happening on Sunday.
The Easter Bunny has been deemed an essential worker, unfortunately, the Easter Bunny doesn't deliver an Easter feast.
But don't stress - you can still eat your heart out on Easter, while practicing social distancing. If you're quarantined with your family, you can eat with them at home. Or, if you're quarantining apart, have your whole family or friend group order from the same place and then video chat for a nice virtual meal.
Here's where you can get Easter brunch and dinner, with the help of Portland restaurants (list will be updated as we find more options - email cassidy@kgw.com if you have a suggestion!).
Brunch
Ava Gene's and Tusk
Just in time for Easter, sister restaurants Ava Gene's and Tusk are teaming up to launch curbside takeout weekend brunch. If you want brunch for Sunday, the menu will be online on Saturday night at 9 p.m, including babka waffles, quiche, avocado toast, chia seed pudding and more.
The restaurant is also offering produce boxes of spring vegetables from local farms, pantry staples, meal kits and a menu of pizzas from Cicoria (another new sister restaurant planned to open summer 2020).
Hungry Heart
If pastries are your favorite brunch item, you can grab some from Hungry Heart. There are sweet and savory options, including chocolate croissants, jam scones, ham and swiss croissants, and bacon cheddar scallion scones. The bakery is offering online ordering for pickup.
Einstein Bros. Bagels
Bagels are always an easy brunch option, especially when you can pick up an order for the whole family. Einstein Bros. Bagels is offering made-to-order boxes including bagels, breakfast sandwiches, muffins and more. The new addition for Easter is a Nova Lox Add-On Kit, which feeds four people.
Order online or on the company's mobile app for Android or iPhone.
Dinner
Quaintrelle
Quaintrelle's Ryley Eckersley is always cooking up delicious things (see the Valentine's Day meal above) and is currently offering curbside pickup and delivery Wednesday through Sunday. For Easter, Quaintrelle is serving a family meal for 2-10 people, including fried chicken, green papaya salad, homemade focaccia, panna cotta and a wine pairing option.
Ezell's Famous Chicken
You can't go wrong with some hearty comfort food for the family. Ezell's is offering chicken dinner combos featuring their famous fried chicken, fresh-baked rolls, homemade side dishes and for dessert: peach cobbler or sweet potato pie.
You can order food delivery from Ezell's via Doordash.
Make your own meal
Nicky USA's Online Fire Sale
Nicky USA is a wholesale butcher and purveyor of high-quality meats, so usually, you only get to try their meats at restaurants and events. But right now, the company is hosting an online fire sale, where you can order Easter lamb, ham and rabbit for your own feast (fun fact: you can also buy toilet paper with your order if you're in need).
Cook with chef Gabriel Rucker
Chef Gabriel Rucker (of Canard and Le Pigeon) has been hosting cooking classes on Instagram since the stay home order began in Oregon. This weekend, he is moving the class to Saturday at noon, to teach people how to make ham and swiss crepes with bacon fried peas and salsa verde, just in time for you to make Easter brunch.
Follow @RuckerGabriel on Instagram to tune in to the lesson
Dessert
Pix Patisserie
Pix Patisserie has chocolate fish and surprise eggs for your Easter dessert. Call ahead if you want to pick some up.
