PORTLAND, Ore. — The kitchen is still busy at Cheryl's on 12th. Ed and Cheryl Casey own the restaurant and catering business. When the stay home-order came from Gov. Brown, they moved to take out and delivery service.
"We're working through it as best we can," Ed Casey said.
What they're doing expanded when one of their employees asked them to make meals for health care workers at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital. The Caseys came up with a plan called “feed a health care worker." They deliver meals to the staff at hospitals and clinics all over Portland.
"We have over 8,000 requests for meals. There's plenty of demand."
They're asking for your help. Cheryl's on 12th will match 50% of all donations to the “feed a health care worker” program. If you donate $10, they'll provide a $15 meal. They put up a GoFundMe page. They raised more than $2,000 in the first couple of days.
The Caseys say what they're doing at Cheryl's on 12th helps health care workers with much needed meals and lets them keep their staff on the job in this time of need.
