PORTLAND, Ore. — Mt. Tabor Brewing announced on social media Wednesday that it is shutting down operations at both its Southeast Portland and Vancouver locations.

"After 8 incredible years, it’s with mixed emotions that we announce the closing of Mt. Tabor Brewing Pub," Mt. Tabor Brewing posted on Instagram. "This journey has been more than just brewing beer — it’s been about building a community, sharing stories, and creating memories with each and every one of you."

The brewery was known for its classic pub-style beers and pizza. Just four months ago, the pub took home bronze at the Oregon Beer Awards for its Checkered Flannel Brown Ale in the Classic North American Styles category.

"As we close this chapter, we’re reflecting on the countless good times we’ve had," Mt. Tabor Brewing said. "Thank you once again for being a part of our story. We couldn’t have done it without you! Here’s to the next great adventure — cheers to all of you!"

Mt. Tabor Brewing is the latest in a wave of breweries to close in Portland, a city that has been so synonymous with beer culture. Over 30 breweries and cideries closed taprooms or operations in 2023 alone in the Portland metro area, including Ecliptic Brewing and Laurelwood Brewing

"Your enthusiasm, feedback, and companionship have been the heart of our success," said Mt. Tabor Brewing. "And we’re profoundly grateful for the support you’ve shown us over the years."
