A Chick-fil-A appears to set to take over the former site of a longtime Lake Oswego restaurant.
A commercial construction building permit filed in Lake Oswego shows plans for a new location of the chicken sandwich chain at 14801 Kruse Oaks Drive. The location was the site of the Stanford's restaurant, which closed in 2022. The business had occupied the spot since 1990, according to the Oregonian.
The new Chick-fil-A would be its first location in Lake Oswego. The chain has several other locations in Portland suburbs, but none in the city of Portland, according to its website.
A report in the Lake Oswego Review said the restaurant would not have a drive-thru, unlike other locations.
Stanford's closing was part of a small wave of restaurant closings in Lake Oswego in October 2022. Along with Stanford's, the Manzana Rotisserie Grill at 301 First Street closed. Both were part of the Restaurants United Group. Two other restaurants, Lac St. Jack and Fills doughnut shop, both at the Mercado Grove development, closed the same month.
Lakeview Taphouse has since opened in the former Manzana location.
