The former Portland Meadows property is reportedly the site of an upcoming Amazon facility.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Amazon reportedly is gobbling up more than 370,000 square feet in Portland and Tualatin with two new facilities, adding to its already expansive Oregon footprint, the Portland Business Journal has learned.

The Seattle e-commerce company is operating an approximately 227,000-square-foot “last-mile” facility at the Majestic Tualatin Business Center in Tualatin, according to Phillip Brown, executive vice president with Los Angeles-based Majestic Realty Co., which developed the site.

The building is for “delivery” and “sorting” services, Brown said. Other tenants expressed interest in the building on S.W. 115th Avenue, but Majestic and Amazon were able to hash out terms for a deal, and Amazon signed a lease last year.

“We’re very excited to have them there,” Brown said.

Amazon has said its last-mile efforts are aimed at speeding up delivery times for customers.

Brokers Steven Klein and Peter Stalick of real estate firm Kidder Mathews represented the landlord in the Tualatin transaction.

In a different deal, Amazon also plans to establish another “last-mile” facility encompassing roughly 150,000 square feet at the former Portland Meadows property, according to people familiar with the matter. An opening date for the facility was unknown. Amazon did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
