PORTLAND, Ore. — The top-earning county employees in the Portland metro area are doctors, lawyers and other highly trained professionals, and their salaries reflect their accomplishments and positions.
All of the top 50 highest-paid county employees earn six figures, and their job descriptions include district attorney, dentist, medical director, psychiatrist and information officer in Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington counties. Pay for the high earners is a quarter-million dollars.
The median household income the area in 2017 ranged from $60,369 in Multnomah County to $74,033 in Washington County, while per capita income was $34,848 in Multnomah and $37,551 in Clackamas.

Multnomah County has the most county employees earning more than $100,000 a year, with 652, while Clackamas and Washington counties had 255 and 215 employees, respectively.
