LONG BEACH, Wash. — Snow Peak Long Beach Campfield, located on the Washington coast, was recently named to TIME Magazine's 2024 list of the Top 100 World’s Greatest Places, despite recently opening.

Snow Peak is a 25-acre "luxury" campground near Long Beach Peninsula in Washington. It "offers an elevated environment, encouraging guests to unplug and immerse themselves in the outdoors," stated a news release announcing its opening earlier this month.

This campground is an extension of a Japanese camping company named Snow Peak; the Long Beach location is the first Snow Peak campground in the U.S.

"Our Long Beach Campfield is more than just a destination; it’s a sanctuary where friends, families, and solo campers can immerse themselves in a refined camping experience, surrounded by the stunning beauty of the Pacific Northwest’s coast," said Noah Reis, chief operating officer and vice president of Snow Peak USA.

Being derived from a Japanese company, the campground has a Japanese style "Ofuro Spa" as well as materials sourced from Japan. The camp hosts a plethora of activities, such as mushroom hunting, clam digging and bike excursions.

TIME's World's Greatest Places list grew from 50 last year to 100 this year and includes hotels, cruises, restaurants, attractions, museums, parks and more. TIME complied its list from "its international network of correspondents and contributors, as well as through an application process, with an eye toward those offering new and exciting experiences," according to TIME.

This is not the first-time a Pacific Northwest city or site was named to TIME's World's Greatest Places. Portland made the list in 2022.

The campsite has been fully booked for the entire summer with reservations needed months in advance.
