PORTLAND - The annual Christmas ships will begin sailing in the Portland area this year on December 7.
Both fleets will be out every night for two weeks beginning December 7 and running nightly through December 21.
The dozens of volunteer ships will split their schedules on the Willamette and Columbia rivers. Weather-related cancellations would be decided an hour before the performance, organizers said.
