PORTLAND, Ore. — Each week, KGW provides a list of events you may want to try in the Portland area over the weekend.

Veterans parade

Veterans Day Parade at Fort Vancouver

Ahead of Veterans Day on Nov. 11, the Lough Legacy Veterans Parade will be on Saturday at Fort Vancouver. Now in its 33rd year, organizers say about 2,500 people are expected to come out and honor veterans from all branches of service. More than 100 groups will be marching in the parade. If you have Monday off, the Portland Veterans Day Parade is at 9:30 a.m.

Northwest Food & Wine Festival

Northwest Food & Wine Festival

The Northwest Food & Wine Festival is back for its 14th year. Wines from dozens of tasting rooms will be available, as well as gourmet food from dozens of restaurants. Tickets begin at $75 plus fees. Tickets include tasting samples and a wine glass.

Gorge Wine Weekend

Gorge Wine Weekend

Celebrate the end of this year’s harvest by enjoying the fine wine offered in the Columbia River Gorge. There will be special offers and several events hosted at various wineries throughout the weekend. The three-day celebration begins Friday and continues through Sunday.

Portland Book Festival

There will be more than 100 authors, 90 vendors and a dozen writing workshops at this year’s Portland Book Festival. There will be activities for readers of all ages and an extensive book fair. You can also enjoy a bite at local food trucks. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Paid admission includes a $5 book voucher redeemable at the book fair.

Music & arts festival

Siren Nation Music & Arts Festival

There will be plenty of entertainment options this weekend and over the next week as part of the Siren Nation Festival. Siren Nation aims to inspire and highlight the works of women in the arts. The festival features concerts, comedy shows, art shows and free workshops. It begins Thursday and continues through Nov. 17.

RV show

More than 500 vehicles will be on display at the Portland Metro Dealers RV Show. There will also be dozens of exhibitors and daily $500 gas card giveaways. Attendees will be eligible for the on-the-spot financing and on-the-spot trade-ins. You can get 2-for-1 tickets online or get the coupon to present at the show. Science fiction festival

Are you a fan of science fiction? Then, you’ll want to check out OryCon 41 this weekend. OryCon is an annual fan-run science fiction and fantasy convention. There will be panels, workshops, an art show and more. Tickets will be available at the door. Weekend passes are $70 for adults and between $25-$45 for a one-day pass.

OHS Santa Paws Pet portraits

The Oregon Humane Society is hosting its Santa Paws Pet Portraits this weekend, so your furry friend can get a picture with Santa! You can get two 5x7 prints of a professional portrait and a digital copy of your photo for $20. OHS will also be hosting the event next weekend.
