PORTLAND, Ore. — Mushroom-infused chocolates, gummies and sweets sold in Oregon have been linked to 30 hospitalizations and possibly one death across 27 states, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said.

Prophet Premium Blends, a California company, has recalled its chocolate bar and sweet products under the "Diamond Shruumz" brand that contain a "potentially harmful chemical" not approved for food by FDA. The products recalled include “Micro- and Mega/Extreme-Dose” versions.

According to the FDA, the products contain muscimol, a chemical found in mushrooms, which has been linked to 58 cases of illness, including hospitalizations.

Reported symptoms relating to the recalled products include seizures, agitation, involuntary muscle contractions, loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness, nausea and vomiting, abnormal heart rates, and hyper/hypotension.
