PORTLAND, Ore. — Grand Central Bakery has issued a recall of its "U-Bake" frozen pie and frozen pie dough products due to trace amounts of undeclared egg.
"People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product," Grand Central Bakery said.
The affected products include U-Bake Pie Crust, U-Bake Apple Pie, U-Bake Marionberry Pie, and U-Bake Chicken Pot Pie products that have expiration dates between 02/01/2025 and 04/20/2025.
These products were sold between Aug. 1 and Oct. 20. They are packaged in clear plastic packaging with Grand Central Bakery branded sticker labels. The expiration date sticker can be found on the exterior of the packaging, Grand Central said.
The products were sold at Grand Central Bakery locations in Portland and Seattle. So far, no illnesses have been reported, Grand Central said.
The discovery was made after an employee noted that egg was added to the pie dough products and the packaging did not disclose it.
"We want to extend an apology to all who are living with egg allergies and sensitivities who may have been affected by this error, and want to reassure all of our customers that we are working diligently to identify how this recipe error occurred to ensure it will not happen again," said Claire Randall, Grand Central Bakery CEO.
Customers who have the affected product is asked to contact Grand Central Bakery's support team at retailfeedback@grandcentralbakery.com or use the website's contact page to receive a refund.
