The Big Float
You can join hundreds of people on the Willamette River this week for the annual Big Float. The event is a combination of a parade/float/beach party to “give our Willamette River a community hug.” Tickets are $10 through July 12 and $15 the day of the event. Proceeds go to the Human Access Project, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people connect with the river.

Mississippi Street Fair
There will be hundreds of vendors, five stages with live music, food, drinks and other entertainment at the Mississippi Street Fair on Saturday. If you want to bring the family, there will be a kids zone which will have a bounce house and other activities. It’s free to attend.

Portland Rose Cup Races
The 59th running of the Rose Cup Races takes over Portland International Raceway this weekend. This year features professional drivers from the Pirelli GT4 America series and TC America series. Some of the best amateur road racers in the Pacific Northwest will also be competing. Ticket prices vary but begin at $10. Click here for a schedule of races.

Portland Thorns
The Portland Thorns play their first home match following the U.S. Women’s National Team World Cup win. While the Thorns players that played for the US team won’t be playing, there will be plenty of excitement at Providence Park Sunday afternoon. The Thorns are currently in third place in the National Women’s Soccer League standings. Ticket prices start at $18. The game will also be televised on ESPNEWS.

FOMO Chicken
FOMO Chicken is a fried chicken food cart devoted to both Korean and American southern flavors. FOMO Chicken only uses organic and locally sourced chicken and provides gluten-free options. Visit them at 113 SE 28th Ave.
El Nutri Taco
El Nutri Taco boasts its reputation for having some of the best Mexican vegan food in Portland. Along with their extensive vegan menu, they also offer a selection of meat versions of each dish. Visit them at either 8436 SE Woodstock Blvd or 2124 NE Alberta St.

Matta
Matta is a food cart serving up Vietnamese soul food in Northeast Portland. Matta’s dishes come from old family recipes along with some of owner Richard Le’s childhood favorites. Their rotating menu using the best ingredients available in Oregon ranges from caramel-scented pork belly to fried shrimp (with heads and tails), or a chicken salad with fried shallots and chicken skins.
