PORTLAND - More than 100 dads enjoyed a donut and a morning with their kids at Woodlawn Elementary school for the yearly Donuts with Dads event.
KGW was there as 125 dads and 160 students filled the school’s auditorium.
Ray Hale, a single father of four Woodlawn students, said it’s nice to be celebrated.
“It’s important to show my kids that I love them and for my kids to show me,” said Hale.
It’s something Blaze Hite, dad to fifth grader Bexley Hite, looks forward to every year.
“It’s a special time for us to connect. I’ve come every year since she was in kindergarten. The line to get in has exponentially grown every year,” said Blaze.
Woodlawn’s principal Andrea Porter-Lopez said Dads, Moms, Grandparents and family friends are all welcome at the event.
“It’s one of our most popular events of the year,” said Porter-Lopez.
