PORTLAND, Ore. — Each week, KGW provides a list of four events you may want to attend in the Portland area over the weekend and a list of four restaurants you may want to try. Here are our picks for this weekend. 

Easter egg hunts

It’s Easter on Sunday which means there will be many Easter egg hunts throughout the Portland metro area this weekend. Some of the more well-known ones are the Rabbit Romp at the Oregon Zoo and the egg hunt at Alpenrose Dairy. Both of those events are on Saturday. But there are plenty of other Easter egg hunt options this weekend.

Earth Day Brewfest and 5K Fun Run

5K fun run Earth Day Brewfest

Earth Day is on Monday, but you can celebrate a few days early this weekend at the Earth Day Brewfest and 5K Fun Run hosted by Stickmen Brewing in Tualatin. Participants can walk, jog or run, then enjoy beer from several breweries. Tickets are $36 plus fees. Tasting tickets, a $5 food voucher, and a collectors pint glass or seasonal swag is included with registration.

Hortlandia plant & art sale

Hortlandia plant & art sale

It’s the 31st year of Hortlandia this weekend at the Portland Expo Center. Put on by the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon, there will be plenty of vendors offering new and time-tested plants. Specialty garden art vendors will also be on hand. Admission is free. Parking is $10.

Crater Lake, Michael Brehm

Looking to get of the Portland area this weekend? In celebration of the first day of National Park Week, admission is free to everyone at all national parks on Saturday. The closest national park site to Portland is Fort Vancouver but there are several more within a day’s driving distance, including Crater Lake and Mount Rainier.

Casa Zoraya

Casa Zoraya is a family-owned restaurant serving up Peruvian food at 841 N Lombard Street. Casa Zoraya prides itself in using only locally sourced ingredients in all of their delicious creations, which includes ceviche, lomo saltado criollo, aji de gallina, empanadas and anticuchos de pollo. They also offer a list of unique cocktails including a Chicha Morada Pisco Sour.

Nong’s Khao Man Gai

Nong’s Khao Man Gai first began in 2009 as a food cart specializing in Khao Man Gai (chicken and rice). Nong’s Khao Man Gai makes everything in-house.
