PORTLAND, Ore. — After an incredible 34 years at KGW, morning anchor Brenda Braxton will be leaving KGW at the end of this month.
A McMinnville native and University of Portland graduate, Brenda started at KGW in 1989.
She wrote a message to KGW viewers to announce her departure:

After 34 years on the Sunrise news, I'm turning off my 2 a.m. alarm clock. I've been thinking about this for a while and told my managers this summer. Now, I get to share the news with you.
In many ways, I feel like that same girl who walked through the doors here so long ago, super excited to get her first, big job at her hometown TV station. I've grown up in this newsroom. Colleagues have come and gone, bosses have come and gone, corporate owners have come and gone but the one constant is you, my viewers. You've been the best part of this job and I'm filled with so much gratitude for the way you've embraced me. Our chats in the grocery store or at a restaurant. Your smiles and a "Hi, Brenda" during a hard day you never knew was hard. Your kindness, enthusiasm, and positivity are infectious. I've often wanted to bottle that feeling and share it.
Life is full of new chapters and I'm about to embark on my next one. I'm not sure where I'll land but I'm looking forward to the journey!
