GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. -- The warm weather has been rough on Mount Hood ski resorts. But Skibowl is trying to embrace it, by turning to summer fun a bit early this year.

Skibowl will be opening some of its most popular summer attractions on March 7. That will include the bungee jump tower, zip line and Malibu raceway. They also hope to get the alpine slide and mountain bike park ready to go by Spring Break.

But that doesn't mean resort managers aren't still holding out hope for some fresh snow.

"We haven't given up on winter yet. It's very common to get a good spring storm with 2, 3, 4, or 5 feet. It's happened in the past, so we're not ruling it out," said Skibowl spokesman Hans Whipper. "If it happens, we'll switch gears, open our lifts and everyone can get some powder turns."

Whipper added that one big advantage of the warm weather has been that it's kept the roads are clear, making it even easier to drive up the mountain.

Skibowl's Mt. Hood Adventure Park doesn't usually open until May.
