Oktoberfest season is here. Here's where to celebrate in and near Portland

Through September, Oktoberfest season kicks off in the Portland area, including the Mt. Angel Oktoberfest which is the largest folk festival in the Northwest.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The season of the Oktoberfest is here. It's time to grab the steins, pull out the lederhosen and seek out tasty brats and pretzels in a span of festivals coming to the Portland metro area. 

Here's where to celebrate Oktoberfest in and around Portland:

Mt. Angel Oktoberfest

Date: Sept. 12-15
Location: 5 North Garfield, Mount Angel, Oregon 97362

As one of the largest folk festivals in the Northwest, the Mt. Angel Oktoberfest offers a wide spread of festivities for all ages with wiener dog races, arts and crafts and beer gardens galore. Most of the festival is free, but wristbands are required for anyone 21 years and over in the Biergarten, Weingarten and Alpengarten. It's $10-$20 for a day pass and $50 for the whole festival. If you wanna skip the driving, a shuttle bus is available from Clackamas, Portland, Silverton, Woodburn and Salem (price ranges from $5-$20 for a round trip). 

Zoiglfest

Date: Sept. 20-21
Location: The Zed at 5716 Southeast 92nd Ave. 

"Loosen up your lederhosen," the Zoiglfest returns in a two-day festival full of live music, food and unsurprisingly, beer. The festival is free to attend, though there are some cost options: $30 gets you a Zoiglfest mug, t-shirt, drink and raffle ticket, and $10 gets you a mug with $5 fills at the pub.

Portland Oktoberfest

Date: Sept. 20-21
Location: Pioneer Courthouse Square

Portland Oktoberfest returns to downtown Portland with the tagline "things might get weird." The festival is 21 years and over and will have entertainment with live music, costume contests and more. Ticket prices range from $20 to $35 with drink tokens included in admission cost. 

Oaks Park Oktoberfest

Date: Sept. 20-22
Location: Oaks Park Amusement Park

Oktoberfest returns to Oaks Park with beer, brats, polka music, Bavarian dancing and yes indeed, wiener dog races. The family-friendly festival is good for all ages. Ticket costs are the same for gate-only and ride bracelets, ranging from $4 to $22.95, depending on a person's height.

McMenamins Oktoberfests

Date: Multiple dates
Location: Multiple locations

McMenamins is hosting a spread of Oktoberfests at its locations throughout the Portland metro area, including Edgefield and the Kennedy School in Portland. All will have live music, drinks and food, and feature the McMenamins Oktoberfest Lager.
