PORTLAND, Oregon — We're another week into spring in Portland; where has the time gone? We are officially headed into the first weekend of April and we're another week closer to summer, meaning more to do across the Rose City.
If you're looking for something fun to do, you have options, from a swap meet at the Portland International Raceway to a leaping musical called "A Year with Frog and Toad." No matter what you're in the mood for, there's something for everyone.

Black and Loud Music Festival
When: April 6, doors open at 6 p.m.
Where: The Bossanova Ballroom, 722 East Burnside Street, Portland
What's going on: The Black and Loud Music Festival celebrates punk, rock and metal created by Black musicians. The festival features many artists including King Youngblood, The OBCMS, Down North, Terra Nobody, Aaron Nicel Smith, Kingsley, Tahirah Memory, Splinterhead, and Crecc Wright.

A Year with Frog and Toad
When: April 6-28
Where: The Judy Kafoury Center for Youth Arts, 1000 SW Broadway, Portland
What's going on: Ready to leap out of hibernation with one of Portland's latest musicals. The musical "A Year with Frog and Toad" is based on Arnold Lobel's well-known characters, Frog and Toad. Join best friends Frog and Toad as they hop, sing, and dance through a year of adventure. The show highlights the value of friendship and has a jazzy, upbeat score that will have the whole family hopping on their toes.

Portland International Raceway Swap Meet
When: April 4-6
Where: Portland International Raceway, 1940 North Victory Boulevard, Portland
What's going on: This is the big one! The 5 miles of booths inside the raceway will be filled with vendors selling used car parts, vintage collectibles, cars and more. Entry fee is $10 and parking there is $15 — cash only.

🌸Cherry blossoms around Portland metro area🌸
Where: Multiple locations across Portland
What's going on: Portland's cherry blossoms aren’t to be missed. Around this time of year, you can catch them across the Portland metro area. They are a sight to be seen down at the waterfront; specifically Tom McCall Waterfront Park is a great place to catch them.
When: Now until May 5
Where: Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm, 33814 South Meridian Road, Woodburn
What's going on: Spring is officially here, and the city of Woodburn is ready to show off its colorful burst of flowers. Each spring, the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival draws thousands to come and witness the acres of tulip fields in full bloom. In addition, the festival will also have a gift shop, pony rides and more. Trillium Festival
When: April 6, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Tryon Creek State Natural Area, 11321 Southwest Terwilliger
What's going on: Celebrate the season at the 44th annual Trillium Festival at Tryon Creek State Natural Area this weekend. This free family-friendly event offers educational stations around the Nature Center and more. Enjoy a day in the woods in celebration of Trillium and experience interactive learning for the whole family.

Staying Alive: Defenses of the Animal Kingdom
When: Every Tuesday through Sunday until April 21
Where: OMSI, 1945 SE Water Avenue, Portland
What's going on: The Oregon Museum of Science and Innovation is bringing live animals to its "Staying Alive: Defenses of the Animal Kingdom" exhibit. The exhibit examines the self-defense mechanisms of 16 different animals, from armor-like skin to venom and poison. Attendees will have the opportunity to touch some of the animals. Tickets start at $14.
