PORTLAND, Ore. —

It's officially mid-October and we're looking at rain in the forecast for the Portland area after a record-breaking warm early October. The switch in weather really means that the Halloween events are in full swing now, and what better way to celebrate than by visiting the zoo, hitting up a drive-in, or staying indoors and watching a live concert. No matter what you choose, just remember to wear your rain boots and jackets.

Howloween

When: Oct. 22-23, 28-31

Where: Oregon Zoo, 4001 Southwest Canyon Road, Portland

What's going on: The Oregon Zoo is not staying behind when it comes to spooky events. "Howloween," a Halloween tradition for the zoo, is back this weekend. The zoo provides a fun and safe setting for costumed trick-or-treaters to learn about healthy habitats for wildlife in a fun scavenger hunt throughout the zoo. Howloween aims to be educational as well as fun.
