PORTLAND, Ore. — Fourth of July is just around the corner, and many are prepping to celebrate the holiday in and around the Rose City.
Although fireworks are banned in Portland, there are still a couple cities teaming up with professionals to create a dazzling fireworks show. Here's a list of some of the major firework shows and Fourth of July celebrations in and around the Portland-Vancouver area:
Portland's Waterfront Blues Festival
When: July 4-7, 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m.
Where: Tom McCall Waterfront Park, 98 Southwest Naito Parkway, Portland, Oregon
What's happening: Portland's Waterfront Blues Festival returns this summer to Tom McCall Waterfront Park for its 37th year. The 2024 festival will feature a world-class roster of local and national blues, soul, funk and R&B artists. The festival will also bring back Oregon's largest July Fourth fireworks show.

Fireworks are scheduled for Thursday, July 4 at 10 p.m. on the South Stage.
4th of July spectacular at Oaks Park
When: July 4, 11 a.m.-12 a.m.
Where: Oaks Amusement Park, 7805 Southeast Oaks Parkway, Portland, Oregon
What's happening: Oaks Amusement Park is bringing back its 4th of July Spectacular celebration. Admission tickets to the event include a full day of rides, first-come, first-served access to all picnic areas, and spectacular fireworks at dusk. Mini golf, games, concessions and merch are sold separately, and the roller rink will be closed for the holiday.

Rides will operate from 12 p.m.-12 a.m. The fireworks display is set to begin at dusk, which is around 9:45 p.m.
Beaverton 4th of July Celebration & Concert
When: July 4, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Where: Veterans Memorial Park, Southwest Watson Avenue, Beaverton, Oregon
What's happening: Grab some lawn chairs, blankets and your family to celebrate with neighbors and friends at Beaverton's 4th of July celebration and concert in the park. Country singer Britnee Kellogg will headline the annual concert, with face paint, a "fun jump," yard games and more for the kids.
The event is free to attend, and leashed dogs are welcome. No alcohol will be served or allowed at the event.
Vancouver Summer Fest Picnic in the Park
When: July 6, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Where: Fort Vancouver National Site, Vancouver, Washington
What's happening: The city of Vancouver is kicking off its annual Summer Fest with the return of Picnic in the Park. The event will feature two stages with live music and entertainment, games on the lawn, magicians, face painting and fun for the whole family. There will also be plenty of local vendors offering food.
This event is free and open to everyone. There will be no fireworks show at the event.
Ridgefield 4th of July Celebration
When: July 4, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: Downtown Ridgefield, Washington
What's happening: There is something for everyone to enjoy while in Ridgefield for July Fourth during their annual Independence Day celebration. All day long, the volunteer-led committee in charge sets up free outdoor entertainment, Fun Run, contests and games, foods and beverages, arts and crafts, a parade and more.

Fort Dalles Fourth Fireworks
When: July 4, starts at 7 a.m.
Where: Lewis & Clark Festival Park, W 1st St, The Dalles, Oregon
What's happening: Lighting up the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, Fort Dalles Fourth promises something for everyone from dawn 'til dusk. The celebration includes the Rocket Run, a community breakfast, the Hometown U.S.A. Parade, and of course, fireworks.

The Rocket Run begins at 7 a.m. to kick off the festivities. The fireworks display is scheduled for 10 p.m.
Seaside 4th of July Celebration
When: July 4, 10:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m.
Where: Seaside Beach, Seaside, Oregon
What's Happening: If you're headed to the coast, Seaside is hosting a 4th of July fireworks celebration on the beach. The city says it hosts one of the largest fireworks shows on the West Coast.
The event is free to attend, and fireworks are scheduled to start around 10 p.m.
Lincoln City 4th of July
When: July 4, starts at 12:00 p.m.
Where: Siletz Bay, Lincoln City, Oregon
What's happening: Every Independence Day, the sky above Siletz Bay fills with colors, sparkles and wonder, and this year is no different. Lincoln City is hosting a Fourth of July celebration. Festivities kick off at noon in the Taft District with live music from Hellcats, Hecktic Week and Mariachi Cuervo.
The event is free and family friendly. Parking is permitted in public parking lots and on streets throughout the district.
The fireworks are scheduled approximately from 10-10:30 p.m.
Laser light shows without fireworks
Fireworks shows on the Fourth of July have been happening for years, but in recent years some cities have been making a change in how they celebrate. Some cities opting for a fireworks-free 4th of July show this year — using drones.
2024 Independence Day Illumination: Concert & Laser Lightshow
When: July 4, starts at 10:00 p.m.
Where: Foothills Park, Lake Oswego, Oregon
What's happening: Lake Oswego's show will light the sky starting around 10 p.m., with the fun starting around 8 p.m. at Foothills Park.
Fourth of July Laser Light Show
When: July 4, starts at 8:00 p.m.
Where: Town Center Park, Wilsonville, Oregon
What's happening: Wilsonville's laser light show begins at 8 p.m. on July 4th at the city's Town Center Park.
Tigard's Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration
When: July 4, starts at 9:30 p.m.
Where: Tigard High School football field, Tigard, Oregon
What's happening: Tigard's Independence Day drone show celebration is free to the public and gates open at 6 p.m. at the Tigard High School football field. The drone show begins at dark, approximately 9:30 to 10 p.m..
