PORTLAND, Ore. — American rapper Don Toliver was previously set to kick off the biggest tour of his career on Thursday with the first stop in Portland, only for the show at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum to be unexpectedly canceled with no official announcement.
The Texas native had planned to have fellow Texan artists, Monaleo and Teezo Touchdown, opening up for his "Psycho Tour," though he announced last month that Teezo would no longer be part of the tour.
In an email to KGW, Monaleo's team confirmed that the show was canceled, with no justification offered.
The Rose Quarter website, which also covers shows at the Coliseum, also stated that the show is canceled Thursday and that tickets will be automatically refunded for Ticketmaster purchasers and Trail Blazers Season Ticket Members.
The 25-tour stop will still have shows in major cities such as Los Angeles, New York City, Houston, Atlanta and Chicago.
Toliver announced Teezo's departure on social media in September, indicating that Teezo is currently focused on recording music. He also announced that fellow artists Ski Mask the Slump God and Molly Santana would be joining him instead, along with Monaleo.
"SO TEEZO LOCKED IN THE LAB AND UNFROUTNETLY CAN'T TOUR RN. MADE A CALL SKI MASK AND MOLLY SANTANA WITH ME. CHOPPERS IN YOUR CITY IMMINENTLY!" he wrote.
On July 14, the "No Idea" rapper had announced the tour on social media in a promotional tour video filmed with Teezo in Italy. The pair were in a boat when Teezo asks, "What do you have to tell me on the water you couldn’t tell me on land?"
"I need you to join me on the road… Psycho Tour is about to take over America," offers Toliver.
"Count me in," responds Teezo.
Toliver came to fame in 2018 after catching the attention of fellow Houston native rapper Travis Scott, and was later featured on his hit album "ASTROWORLD." In 2019, Toliver later released his first hit single. Thanks to TikTok, "No Idea" took off he went on to release his 2020 debut studio album, "Heaven or Hell," through Scott's Cactus Jack Records.
He was also featured on Scott's 2019 "JACKBOYS" collaborative album with Cactus Jack Records members. Toliver released his second album, "Life of a Don," in 2021, featuring many artists including his partner, Latin singer Kali Uchis, whom he recently had his first child with. The "Bandit" singer dropped his latest third studio album "HARDSTONE PSYCHO" in May of this year.
