Portland's iconic Benson Hotel unveils its annual Gingerbread Masterpiece to the public. This year’s display includes approximately 150 pounds of gingerbread and 20 pounds each of white chocolate and marzipan.
It’s a 46-year holiday tradition.
Chef Diffendorfer has been creating these masterpieces for over 25 years, and In the spirit of the holidays, the Benson encourages all who come to give back this season by bringing an unwrapped toy for Make-a-Wish Oregon.
The annual unveiling is in the Hotel's grand lobby, surrounded by festive trimmings of more than 300 poinsettias and a magnificent 20-foot Douglas Fir Christmas tree. Attendees also enjoy delicious cookies, hot cider and live holiday music.
