PORTLAND, Ore. — Joe Raineri is an award-winning meteorologist and reporter who has worked across the Pacific Northwest throughout his career. He comes back to the Rose City after working at KIRO-TV in Seattle, where he forecasted convergence zone weather anomalies and an onslaught of rain.

Joe got his start in broadcasting while working at KBVR-TV, the campus station at Oregon State University, where he did everything from anchor, report and produce nightly newscasts. After graduating from OSU, he went on to earn his Meteorology certificate from Mississippi State University.

Prior to Seattle, Joe spent nearly a decade in Portland working as a meteorologist and reporter, where he covered everything from snow storms, flooding and tornadoes. Joe is a big sports fan and has also worked as a sports anchor during his career. He has had the opportunity to cover the Portland Trail Blazers (who he has been rooting for since he was a little kid), Timbers matches and countless Civil War games between his Beavers and the Ducks. The most memorable sporting event he’s covered was the 2008 USA Olympic Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene.

During his fifteen-year career he has also worked in Central Oregon at KFXO and in Eugene at KVAL.

When Joe’s not busy chasing down storms and stories you can find him working on his golf game, skiing down the mountain, or spending time with his family. If you have a story idea for him, send him an email at jraineri@kgw.com.
