PORTLAND, Ore. — KGW has named John Tierney as News Director, effective July 25. John joined KGW in May 2014 to lead the station's investigative and political reporting teams and has served as Assistant News Director for the past six years.

“I grew up in Portland watching KGW,” said Tierney. “It’s an honor to now lead such a talented team of journalists at a time when quality local news is more important than ever.”
