KGW wins 13 Emmy awards, including Community Outreach Award

PORTLAND, Ore. — KGW has earned 13 Northwest Regional Emmy® awards from the Northwest chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). The awards event was held in Seattle on Saturday, June 1. The competition included the five states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska.

KGW received the special honor of the NATAS Northwest Board of Governors Community Outreach Award, which recognized the KGW Great Toy Drive for outstanding community service work.

“In 2023, our team navigated obstacles, embraced a creative approach, and engaged with remarkable people. We remain devoted to delivering stories that foster positive change in our community. We continue to set new standards for local news. We are dedicated to enriching our community through journalism that genuinely makes a difference,” said Greg Retsinas, President and General Manager of KGW.

The station was recognized in 13 categories and earned 41 nominations. Entries were based on material that was first broadcast in the calendar year of 2023.
