RHODODENDRON, Ore — An overturned semi-truck carrying diesel and gasoline overturned on Highway 26 near Zigzag Sunday morning, causing the highway to close for several hours, Hoodland Fire said.
At 5:22 a.m., Hoodland Fire was sent to the crash and found the overturned semi leaking fuel. Fire crews shut down all lanes of traffic on Highway 26. A hazardous materials team from Gresham fire was called in to assist with the mitigation of the fuel runoff, a press release said.
The driver of the semi-truck was taken to a Portland hospital with minor injuries.
Oregon State Police and Oregon Department of Transportation helped keep the highway closed for several hours and set up a detour. The highway reopened around 3 p.m.
