PORTLAND, Ore. -- Bend, Oregon's own Ben Ferguson finished just off the podium in the snowboard halfpipe final.
Ferguson finished in 4th place, while Kent Callister, also from Bend, finished in 10th place.
Ferguson, representing Team USA, had a rough first run, scoring 43 points out of 100. He came back strong for his second run, putting up a score of 83.50. His third run was his best, but his score of 90.75 was good enough for 4th place.
American Shaun White won the gold medal on his final run.
The best score of three runs counts as the rider's final score.
This was Ferguson’s first trip to the Olympics.
Callister, representing Australia, finished in 10th place with scores of 20, 62 and 56.75.
Callister's family moved to Bend in 2005. This was his second trip to the Olympics.
