Woman found dead in Northwest Portland

Portland police said that the circumstances around her death are currently unknown.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A woman was found dead in Northwest Portland on Sunday, according to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB).

Around 11:25 a.m., Portland police responded to the area of Northwest 22nd Avenue and Northwest Kearney Street. 

A KGW journalist reports the deceased woman was in a wheelchair near a hospital. 

Police said the circumstances around her death are currently unknown.

Northwest Kearney Street was closed between Northwest 22nd Avenue and Northwest 23rd Avenue during the investigation, according to PPB.

The identity of the woman will be released once the medical examiner confirms the cause of death.
